Welcome to the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Jamia Millia Islamia. Jamia Millia Islamia has been accredited with an A++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and ranked among the top universities in the country under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). It has also been ranked among the top institutions by the QS World University Rankings (686) and the Times Higher Education, UK (401-500), reflecting the quality of its teaching and research.
CDOE is the manifestation of Jamia Millia Islamia’s commitment to re-imagining higher education to meet the changing needs of learners. CDOE believes in the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and promotes higher education in both distance and online learning through affordable, accessible, and quality education. These modes allow learners to continue their studies while fulfilling their professional, personal, and other responsibilities, while also encouraging access, flexibility, lifelong learning, and continuous development.
The Centre offers more than 50 Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Certificate programmes through ODL and Online modes. The Centre has an enrolment of more than 24,000 learners from different parts of the country and abroad. The CDOE continues to introduce new programmes and strengthen its academic infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of higher education. The CDOE has enriched its infrastructure with the establishment of a media lab, a library, and other amenities for the learners at the centre.
The CDOE functions in accordance with the regulations of UGC-DEB ensuring quality, transparency, and compliance. As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the learning ecosystem, the CDOE is also in the process of establishing new Learning Support Centres to increase its reach.
